Information

What happens when an AI system makes a decision about you that you don’t understand? If AI is shaping our workplaces, how do we make sure it actually works for the people in them? When technology makes choices at scale, who gets left out—and how do we fix it? AI is powerful, but it isn’t human, so how do we design it for humans? If AI influences opportunity, access, and fairness, what does it take to make those systems trustworthy?

I will explain why human‑centered design matters now more than ever, especially as organizations rely on automated tools to make decisions that affect real people. The talk will include clear, practical ways to bring Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, accessibility, and civil‑rights alignment into each stage of the AI lifecycle so systems are understandable, fair, and supportive of everyone who uses them. Attendees will learn straightforward approaches for reducing bias, improving communication, and building AI tools that people can trust. The talk will encourage leaders to design AI with people at the center so technology strengthens—not harms—equity and belonging.
