Oversight: AI Explainability, Governance, & Model Risk

Information

I’ve worked on misinformation at Facebook, youth safety at Instagram, and high-stakes reliability with most foundation model labs. That experience has made clear that more capable AI will not automatically become more trustworthy. In this conversation, I’ll explore what it takes for AI to earn trust, including how systems can exercise judgment, account for consequences, and operate within a defensible range of reasonable action. I’ll also examine how humans can be effectively involved and how expert judgment can be translated into evaluations and safeguards at scale.
