Information

Manufacturing is facing a convergence of challenges: workforce shortages, rapidly changing skills, rising energy demands, and an explosion of data. AI is often positioned as the answer. However, AI is inherently probabilistic, while manufacturing is a precision environment where shop floor decisions need to be deterministic. That tension is why so many AI initiatives stall between pilot and production.

This session explores what it takes to make AI trustworthy on the shop floor, and why that has less to do with smarter models and more to do with the foundation underneath them: connected data, simulation, governance, and orchestration.

In this session, you will learn:
• Why safety, reliability, and predictability are the prerequisites for AI-driven decision making in manufacturing
• How digital twins and simulation help manufacturers validate outcomes before changes impact production
• What orchestration means in practice and how it connects AI, people, and operational systems to enable trusted action at scale
