What happens to the economy when intelligence itself becomes cheap and abundant? The compute powering frontier AI is growing more than fourfold per year, and a distinct "AI economy" is already emerging and expanding at rates that dwarf anything in economic history. Drawing on my recent research, I will present new measurements of this AI economy and explain the feedback loops that could drive an economic take-off. The talk will then explore what this means for the questions every leader should be asking: What happens to jobs and wages when AI can perform most cognitive tasks? Join me for a data-driven tour of the most consequential economic transformation of our lifetimes — and what we can do to steer it toward broadly shared prosperity.
