AI has a trust problem. Research shows that most Americans are more concerned than excited about AI in daily life, and that concern is well-founded: without proper governance, AI models can introduce bias, produce unexplainable outcomes, and be nearly impossible to audit after the fact. To build genuine trust in AI, organizations must ensure that their models are interpretable, auditable, and enforceable, and blockchain technology offers a practical, operational path to achieving all three. In this session, I will discuss how FICO uses blockchain-based AI models to help reduce hallucinations, while ensuring adherence to our Responsible AI standards. By embedding governance rules directly into a private blockchain, we have created an immutable record of every decision made throughout the model development lifecycle, from variable selection and algorithm approval to ethics testing and final sign-off.
