The AI transformation of drug design and clinical development is already under way.
Multimodal foundation models and increasingly capable agents are increasing R&D capabilities at a scale that were inconceivable not a few years ago. Realizing their potential will require fit-for-purpose data, rigorous evals and benchmarks and deep grounding in biology and clinical reality.
Getting this right will help us to not only move faster, but also generate novel insights to enable us to ask better questions, design more discriminating experiments, and deliver more meaningful advances for patients.
